  • Bachelor of Science - Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
  • Profession: Director of Utilities at Tahoe City PUD. Over 19 years of service with TCPUD
  • 25 years of professional water and groundwater resource experience
  • Licensed Drinking Water Operator with the State of California for 20 years

Water

Our most precious resource

  • TDPUD has succeeded in reducing water production by 34% since 2009 due to pipeline replacements, meter installations, customer leak repairs and customer conservation.
My thoughts:

We must continue to evaluate and protect Truckee's groundwater supply on a regular basis and continue our reinvestment in our infrastructure.

Energy

Provide clean, sustainable, and reasonably priced energy for Truckee's present and future needs

  • Since 2007 TDPUD has increased it renewable energy portfolio to 66%.
  • Voted against pursuing small nuclear modular reactors as an energy source in favor of other clean or renewable resources.
My thoughts:

We must continue to pursue additional clean and renewable energy sources for our community, while maintaining equitable rates.

Conservation

Saving resources and saving money

  • TDPUD has maintained Award winning conservation programs for its customers to save money and reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Our programs effectiveness has been verified year after year.
  • Programs provide a strong community outreach and engagement.
My thoughts:

I pledge to continually evaluate our conservation programs and make sure that costs and effectiveness are appropriately balanced.

Rates

Maintaining equitable rates

  • Electric rates have increased only 5% since 2010.
  • Water rate increases kept near inflation while providing steady funding for infrastructure replacement and reinvestment.
My thoughts:

We must choose our energy resources wisely to keep rates affordable. However, we must continue to reinvest in our infrastructure to avoid putting this burden solely on future generations.

My record of eight years of service as a Board Member of TDPUD, including those I served as President of the Board is proof of my competence and my passion to continue representing the community in its water and power needs. If re-elected, I will continue to bring balance, leadership and expertise to the Truckee Donner PUD Board.
I am committed to continue looking forward and to build upon this success by investing in more clean and renewable resources and working with local community and stakeholders in meeting their own energy goals, all in a fiscally prudent and equitable manner.
